A chat with journalists from United States

Three journalists from the United Statestalked shop March 21 with TSJC’s faculty and students.Bruce Ramsey, columnist from Seattle Times, Andrew Ross, a senior editor and business columnist from San Francisco Chronicle, and Richard J. Grant, columnist from the Tennessean appeared at the invitation of the China-United States Foundation.

The session washosted by DAI Jiaa lecturerwith Tsinghua University.She introduced the history and course structure of our school, especially the educational ideal.

The session lasted for two hours. Topic of the conversation included financial news writing skills, news reporting skills, the acquisition of financial knowledge and expertise, and other practices regarding news writing and reporting.

The discussion also drew attention to the topics about the presidential election in the US, Ambassador Gary Locke and how American people see Chinese people.

The China-United States Exchange Foundationinvites journalists fromthe US to China three or four times a year to talk about the developmentof the Chinese economyandabout the teaching of journalism and communication.
