On May 14, Mr. Masood Khan, Pakistan Ambassador to China met with Professor Li Xiguang, executive dean of Tsinghua School of Journalism and Communication, and delivered a speech as the Tsinghua Global Vision Lecture Series. Dean Li Chaired the lecture.
The topic of the lecture was "Rebuild the Great Silk Roads Crossroads: the Role of China and Pakistan in Seeking a Political Settlement to Afghan-American War". Mr. Masood Khan stressed the great friendship between Pakistan and China, and the importance of the bilateral cooperation.
He also expressed sincere sympathy for the Chinese people who died in the Wenchuan earthquake. He said that, when the Wenchuan earthquake happened last year, Pakistan people were sharing the same grief as Chinese people.
Mr. Masood Khan welcomed Tsinghua students to Pakistan, and encouraged them to experience the different culture in his country.
Mr. Masood Khan was appointed the Pakistan Ambassador to China in 2008. He served as the Pakistan representative to UN and other international organizations headquartering Geneva from March 2005 to September 2009. Having worked for the government for 28 years, Mr. Masood Khan is an expert on Pakistan foreign affairs.
