The Seventh Session of Tsinghua-Reuters Programme on Global Journalism held in TSJC

The Seventh Senior Professional Workshop of Tsinghua-Reuters Programme on Global Journalism was held in the School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University (TSJC), from April 23 to April 27.

The topic of the seventh workshop is Reporting on Economy, Finance and Commerce, which is designed to help business journalists develop their skills in news gathering and presentation. The core of the programme consists of a series of intensive, practical exercises built around simulated economic news scenarios. It also focuses on improving participants’ understanding of national and international financial markets through the use of detailed briefings, external presentations and, on occasion, visits to financial institutions. The detailed schedule is enclosed.

Since 2005, TSJC has hosted six senior professional workshops covering financial and economic reporting, Olympic and sports reporting, public health reporting, and advanced television reporting. Over 60 mid-career journalists from leading Chinese and Asia-Pacific media organizations attended the workshops led by former and current senior editors and reporters of the Reuters worldwide and professors with expertise of practical journalism from Tsinghua. All the courses are sponsored by both of Tsinghua University Education Foundation and the Reuters Foundation.
