Biography
Zhou Qing’an is the Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University and a member of the Cultivation Steering Committee of the Institute for International and Area Studies at Tsinghua University. He holds several distinguished academic honors, including Young Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor (Ministry of Education), Minjiang Scholar Chair Professor (Fujian Province), and membership on the Journalism and Communication Graduate Teaching Committee of the Ministry of Education.
Professor Zhou currently serves as the 10th Council member of the All-China Journalists Association, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the China Public Relations Association, Vice President of the Public Relations Education Committee of the China Association of Higher Education, and Vice President of the Seventh Council of the Chinese Association for the History of Journalism and Communication.
He has led multiple projects funded by the National Social Science Fund and has played a key role in the evaluation of press conferences organized by the State Council Information Office. Since 2002, he has been involved in the training of national news spokespersons at various levels. He oversees the academic research of the National Press Release Evaluation and Assessment under the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council Information Office, and serves as the head of the National Government Press Release Evaluation Academic Working Group.
In addition, Professor Zhou has served as the director of the special topic division of the International Herald Leader at Xinhua News Agency. He has also been invited as a special commentator and columnist for leading media outlets such as CCTV, China Radio International, Beijing News, and Guangzhou Daily.
He is frequently invited to deliver keynote speeches at renowned international academic conferences and think tank forums, including the annual conference of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the Think Asian Forum, and the Asia New Vision Forum.
